. The years drifted by like haze.
Was it really that long time ago?
We remember those days, as starry-eyed kids,
we indulge in childish plays
the merry laughter
fleeting infatuations and the boundless dreams.
We believed in the invincibility of hearts and wills.
The youthful exuberance of adolescence burst through our souls.
That was us then.
As the years rolled by, we encountered obstacles.
We lost. We failed.
The world came crumbling down. We learned High school fantasies are short-lived.
We thrive in a real world now – bereft of fantasies yet so full of expectations.
No longer idealistic yet so full of hope.
No longer infatuated but surrounded by love.
Embattled yet hanging on to the throes of faith.
Mere survival of the hurdles of life is proof of our triumph.
We are honed through time.
No longer the dreamy youths BUT better
stronger versions of ourselves.
This is us now. Are you one of us?
